Alicia Leonardi, 42, of Plaistow, was walking with her friend and an unleashed dog near the wooded area of the train tracks outbound from the Newfields Road trestle, Exeter Police Chief Stephan Poulin announced June 3 in a press release.

    CONCORD — Gov. Kelly Ayotte has ruled out granting Pamela Smart a hearing to consider commuting her life sentence for her role in her husband's murder. Smart has been imprisoned since 1991 after conspiring to kill her husband, Gregg, in Derry in 1990. Prosecutors said the then-media coordinator at Winnacunnet High School manipulated a Seabrook teenager into carrying out the shooting by coercing him through a sexual relationship.
