A bill that would claw back $1.1 billion already allocated for public media now goes to the Senate for a vote, after passing the House Thursday. Unlike an earlier executive order that targeted public dollars spent on NPR and PBS, this bill would rescind funds from local public media stations, too.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has confirmed the pilot who died when his plane crashed into a Brooklyn Park home over the weekend was U.S. Bank executive Terry Dolan. Bank officials had said Sunday that they believed Dolan was on the plane but could not officially confirm his death. There were no other fatalities, and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.

A federal judge has temporarily blocked President Donald Trump’s executive order redefining birthright citizenship two days after Minnesota joined 21 other states in a lawsuit to challenge it. This was the first in what’s likely to be a flurry of lawsuits from Democratic Attorneys General as they implement a plan that began taking shape long before Americans elected Trump.
