    The jury in the case of a York husband accused of trying to kill his wife has started its deliberations. The jurors started discussing their verdict at 3pm today at Leeds Crown Court and were sent home at 4.15pm. Stephen Richard Carr, 57, denies a charge of attempting to murder his wife Lorna Carr in their home in Southfields Road, Strensall. He has admitted wounding her with intent to cause her grievous bodily harm.

    Michaela Allan, 34, of Fishergate, York, pleaded guilty to stealing coffee and butter from Asda Express on Great North Way, Nether Poppleton, and was banned from the store for 12 months and ordered to pay £70.41 compensation. Jamie McHale, 37, of Tang Hall Lane, pleaded guilty to driving dangerously on Water Lane, Clifton. He was given a 12-month community order and given 10 days’ rehabilitative activities and 200 hours’ unpaid work.

    A York husband claimed he “blacked out” just before he stabbed his wife with a kitchen knife six times. Stephen Richard Carr, 57, alleged he couldn’t remember telling Lorna Carr earlier “you’re dying tonight” and denied that he had lost control of himself. He alleged he couldn't recall hitting her in the face with the bow from his bow and arrow when they were both standing up shortly before the stabbing but agreed the couple's internal CCTV appeared to show him doing that.

    A York husband accused of trying to kill his wife claimed he fired three times close to her with a bow and arrow to scare her. Stephen Richard Carr denied that he had aimed the arrows at her and that he had wanted to harm her. He told Leeds Crown Court he was a very good shot with a bow and arrow and if he had wanted to, he could “easily, very easily” have hit her with the arrows.

    She claimed at no stage when he was firing arrows with a bow when they were both in their bedroom, hitting her with the bow and stabbing her several times did he say he wanted to kill her. “He is a good shot with the bow and arrow and could quite easily have taken me out,” she alleged of one shot when they were both in the bedroom.

My mother, 80, shielding, found bayonet instead of screw light bulbs in her @sainsburys delivery. @sainsburys didn't tell her. When she complains, @sainsburys says she should have checked them on delivery. How? It was a large order.
