Ballpark cancels final day of carnival after nearby shooting

Leaders at Penn Medicine Park in Lancaster canceled the last day of a carnival outside the stadium after a shooting next to the carnival the night before. Lancaster police say a teenager and an adult were shot Saturday night on Fredrick Street just outside the stadium. Since 2019, Penn Valley Shows out of Millburg has set up its carnival rides and games in the parking lot behind the stadium. This year, the carnival was set to run from Wednesday through Sunday.
Body found in Susquehanna River ID'ed as missing Lancaster woman

The body of a woman who was reported missing was found in the Susquehanna River. The Lancaster County Coroner identified the woman as 33-year-old April Wefler, who lived on the 100 block of South Queen Street in Lancaster City. The County said Wefler worked at the County Government Center for the Elections Office three blocks away. Police said she often walked places because she didn't have a car, a clue they are using in their investigation.

Harrisburg fire Chief Brian Enterline and his firefighters responded to the fire at the governor’s mansion early Sunday morning. Enterline said he's seen video of suspect Cody Balmer inside the residence — video that won't be released to the public because of the ongoing criminal investigation. "The complex itself has a lot of challenges to it. It is a very large complex, and it is very secure. We can't just drive fire trucks right up to the front of the thing,” Enterline said.
