A fundraising campaign has been launched to support a devoted mother and her five-year-old son who has recently been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Weronika Kulinska, from Dungannon, who is raising money for her friend Daria Kabat after her son Gabriel was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) – a rare type of cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow. Only 760 people are diagnosed with ALL in the UK each year.

CCTV cameras are to be installed at Lir Fold in Keady after ongoing reports of “intolerable” anti-social behaviour. Last year alone, more than two dozen calls were made to police “on at least 14 separate issues”. The facility is operated by Radius Housing. According to the company’s website, it offers apartment style accommodation specially designed for over 55s who want to live independently with the reassurance of 24 hour support.

Fears Gilford could be left without a Post Office after the recent closure in the village may soon be allayed. It could shortly reopen at the EuroSpar in the village instead. The multi-million-pound retail venue – which opened last year – is seeking amendments to conditions laid down prior to approval being granted. These changes would pave the way for a Post Office facility at the Banbridge Road premises. It follows the closure of the Centra store in the village at the start of May.

A eulogy delivered at the funeral of a well-known Castleblayney man – who made Armagh city his home for many years – spoke of a man “most witty, talented and compassionate”. Conor Greenan, who was a former staff photographer at the Ulster Gazette, a member of Armagh Theatre Group, and a chef – among many things – passed away on Monday.
