    A bridge near Tandragee significantly damaged during Storm Eowyn is to be repaired next month. The bridge, in Clare, suffered greatly when a large adjacent mature tree was blown over by the high winds in January. As a result, the Department for Infrastructure assessed the damage and have since issued instruction to a contractor to take forward repairs.

    Works to repair “unsightly and dangerous” boundary fencing on a main Armagh city road is to be repaired in the coming weeks. The boundary fencing along the Friary / Ring Road in Armagh city has become “unsightly and dangerous” and in desperate need of fixing. At some points it has fallen, in other parts some posts and fencing are rotten, loose and dangerous. SDLP councillor Thomas O’Hanlon commented: “I have been lobbing a number of agencies over recent months seeking safety improvements.

    Tributes have been paid to woman, described as “a friend to all,” following her tragic passing in a house fire in Meigh over the weekend. Rosaleen ‘Rosie’ Ward, who was in her 50s, died following a fire at her home in Bearna Park on Saturday morning, June 21. A funeral notice described her as the beloved daughter of the late Bernie and Bridget Ward, as well as a much loved daughter, sister, auntie and motherly figure to all her nieces and nephews.
