VIENNA TWP., Ohio (WKBN) – The trial against Vienna’s former fiscal officer has been pushed back a month. Linda McCullough is now scheduled to stand trial on June 16. She was supposed to stand trial next month. However, Assistant Prosecutor Chuck Morrow says the two lead investigators weren’t available due to mandatory training. McCullough is charged with ten counts, including theft in office. She’s accused of using her position as the township’s fiscal officer to steal more than $116,000.
Trumbull County commissioners put bow on Kimberly-Clark deal

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — Trumbull County commissioners approved Wednesday a tax abatement deal for Kimberly-Clark. The board of commissioners is the third and final entity to approve the 10-year, 60% tax abatement that has already been approved by Howland and Warren townships for the facility. The vote was unanimous. “I think that this is going to be nothing more than a major boon for our community,” said Trumbull County Commissioner Rick Hernandez.

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — A Warren man was sentenced Wednesday on an animal cruelty charge. Randall Charlton pleaded guilty to cruelty to animals, a first-degree misdemeanor. He was sentenced to five days in jail, followed by probation, and ordered not to own or have contact with any domesticated animal, according to court records. Charlton was charged after the discovery of an emaciated dog.
Jesse Pace enters plea in burglary, assault case out of McDonald, Ohio

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — The McDonald man charged with breaking into a home and assaulting a police officer has pleaded guilty to an amended indictment. Jesse Pace entered the plea in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to felony charges of aggravated burglary, assault and harassment with a bodily substance. It stems from a February incident on Hayes Avenue in McDonald. Police say Pace forced himself into a home, took off, and returned while an officer was there.

Justin Chill enters guilty plea in motel arson case in Newton Falls, Ohio

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — The man charged in connection to a motel fire in Newton Falls has changed his plea to guilty. Justin Chill entered the plea Tuesday afternoon in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to two counts of aggravated arson. It stems from a fire in room 122 at the Budget Lodge off State Route 5 back in December. Firefighters have said motel management was able to extinguish the fire by the time firefighters arrived on the scene.
