A man was hit and killed by a train on San Antonio's North Side, police said. San Antonio Police Department officials said the incident occurred today around 9:00 a.m. at the 8900 block of Wetmore Road. According to an SAPD preliminary report, a northbound train conductor spotted the male victim on the tracks. The conductor attempted to warn the individual by sounding the horn, but the man did not move. The train could not stop in time, resulting in the fatal collision.

Yolanda Saldívar, convicted killer of music icon Selena Quintanilla, will remain in prison. She was denied parole after serving nearly three decades in a Texas state prison. The decision came Thursday, after the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles voted to deny the release of Saldívar from the Patrick O'Daniel Unit prison in Gatesville, where she has been serving a life sentence for fatally shooting Selena on March 31, 1995, in Corpus Christi.
