BALLSTON SPA – A former Warren County correction officer has been sentenced last week to eight and one-third to 25 years of incarceration after being found guilty of multiple domestic violence convictions in January. Stephen A. Frank, 48, of Lake George was sentenced Friday after being found guilty of three counts of aggravated criminal contempt, class D felonies; four counts of first-degree criminal contempt, class E felonies; and two counts of third-degree assault, class A misdemeanors.

WASHINGTON COUNTY – Washington County has launched a new online tool that will help local property owners protect themselves from fraud. The Washington County Clerk’s Office announced Friday that it has launched a new free Fraud Alert tool. “This is an easy way for homeowners to have peace of mind,” said Washington County Clerk Lisa J. Boyce in a statement. The Fraud Alert site allows residents to sign up to receive alerts whenever a document is recorded under their name.

LAKE GEORGE – The Hudson Falls man accused in a 2023 shooting that injured two people on Maple Street rejected a plea deal in court Wednesday. Curtis Fisher, 33, was arrested in March 2025 in relation to the August 2023 shooting and charged with one count of criminal possession of a loaded firearm, one count of criminal possession of a firearm, one count of attempted assault, and one count of failure to safely store a firearm.

BALLSTON SPA – Ahead of Monday’s trial over the death of local Elvis impersonator TJ Krider last spring, defense attorney Kevin O’ Brien is confident about his client’s case. Jury selection will begin Monday in Saratoga County Court for what is expected to be a two-week trial. Defendant Ronald Rayher, 70, a retired chiropractor out of Milton, was arrested April 9, 2024, in connection to the death of 40-year-old Thomas Krider, aka TJ Greene.
