    GLENS FALLS – Members of the Glens Falls Fire Department were honored after their response to a fire on January 15 at 158 Bay Street in Glens Falls in which they had to not only fight the large fire but also rescue a woman who had been trapped inside the residence. The department’s A-Crew was able to get through the fire to locate and rescue an unconscious, wheelchair-bound resident from the second floor of the burning building.

    QUEENSBURY – An Indiana man who pleaded guilty to three counts of raping a child in Queensbury has been sentenced to six years of incarceration and 10 years of post-release supervision. Tyler Harmon, 25, of Warsaw, Indiana, appeared before Warren County Judge Robert Smith Wednesday morning for sentencing. In February he pleaded guilty to having sex multiple times with a 16-year-old in Queensbury in December 2022, January 2023, and in December 2023.

    WHITEHALL – A Buffalo man has been indicted by a grand jury after allegedly bringing a child across state lines from Vermont to engage in sexual activities in Whitehall. The Office of the United States Attorney for the District of Vermont announced last week that Ian Blochwitz, 33, of Buffalo had pleaded not guilty in January 2025 to allegations that he had transported a 12-year-old child from Vermont to Whitehall, New York, to engage in sexual activity in February 2023.

    SARATOGA SPRINGS – An arrest has been made after a Saratoga Springs man died Sunday after being shot with a BB gun. The Saratoga Springs Police Department received a call reporting that a man had shot his roommate with a BB gun at their home on Warren Street. The called stated that the victim was bleeding and experiencing difficulty breathing. Saratoga Springs Police found the victim unconscious and unresponsive. The victim, Michael Collins, 27, was transported to Albany Medical Center.
