GLENS FALLS – The City of Glens Falls has been named a winner of the New York State Conference of Mayor’s Local Government Achievement Award for this year. The City of Glens Falls will be presented with the award at NYCOM’s annual meeting at the Sagamore Resort in Bolton Landing on Thursday.

LAKE GEORGE – Americade returns to Lake George next week for its 42nd year with an estimated 50,000-100,000 motorcycle enthusiasts anticipated to come out for the annual event. Americade will run from Wednesday, May 28 through Saturday, May 31, with the opening celebration kicking off the annual event being held Tuesday, May 27 at 6 p.m. at the Carriage House at Fort William Henry.

FORT ANN – A suspect is now in custody in relation to a Fort Ann shooting which killed two people Thursday night. State police identified the two individuals who were killed in Thursday’s shooting as Adam M. Darrah, 19, of Glens Falls and Marcus J. Macaulay, 19, of Glens Falls. Both Darrah and Macaulay were pronounced dead at Glens Falls Hospital late Thursday evening, state police announced Friday.

GLENS FALLS – The Glens Falls Community Hydro Project is now officially live and bringing renewable energy to the city of Glens Falls from the Warrensburg Dam. Northern Power & Light co-founders Emmett and Ethan Smith announced the project officially going live at a press conference Wednesday with the flipping of a large metaphorical switch with the help of city officials.
