BROOKLYN (PIX11) – The mother of a Black teenager beaten in a racially motivated attack on Monday is demanding justice. Monique Whyte joined clergy at the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue subway station on Friday to call for action. “It’s a hate crime; they threw bananas and called him the N-word,” Whyte said. Whyte’s son was assaulted on Monday at the subway station by a group of teens. Three teens surrounded her son, the victim.

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – A Black teenager was attacked and called racial slurs by a group of teens at a subway station in New York City while on his way to school Monday, according to sources. The assault took place at the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue subway station in Brooklyn at 8:04 a.m., police said. PIX11 News obtained cellphone footage of the attack. It shows the 16-year-old victim outnumbered by a group of teens. The teens surround the victim, and he attempts to run.

NEW YORK (PIX11) – Three men are accused of attempting to rape a female colleague while they were all employed by the United States Postal Service, according to a criminal complaint filed Wednesday. Daniel Jean, Kirt Acala, and Edward Chou face various charges of sexual misconduct and kidnapping, according to a complaint.

NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) – A cab driver says it’s a “miracle” he made it out of a shooting in Brooklyn with just a graze wound to his cheek. Prince Ezenekwe, a 54-year-old father, drove himself to the hospital Monday morning after he was shot at by a passenger, he said. “I’m the luckiest, I take this as a miracle,” Ezenekwe said of the shooting. The shooting happened around 1:40 a.m. in Canarsie, police said.
