USDA's crop progress report released on May 27 showed that 97% of corn in Minnesota had been planted, with 78% emerging. Meanwhile, 91% of soybeans in Minnesota had been planted, with 56% emerging. The move came after Earthjustice and the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University filed a lawsuit on behalf of the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York, Natural Resources Defense Council and the Environmental Working Group.
