ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Police confirm two people have been shot at the corner of Market and 14th Street in Downtown St. Louis Friday morning. In a post on 'X' from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, police say the officer interrupted a shooting involving two male suspects. Eye witnesses tell KMOX they saw two men getting into an altercation outside of the old Municipal Court building, when one of them fired at the other.

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Missouri State Sen. Mike Moon (R-Ash Grove) is proposing a new bill that would grant survivors and victims of abuse lifetime protection from their perpetrators. Senate Bill 869 is an act that provides court jurisdiction at the time of sentencing to enter a lifetime protection order. This order would restrain defendants from contacting victims if they are found guilty of dangerous felonies, like sodomy or rape.

The National Coalition of Domestic Violence reports the increase can be as much as 20% during the month of December. Domestic violence is defined as the willful intimidation, physical assault, battery, sexual assault, and/or other abusive behavior as part of a systematic pattern of power and control perpetuated by one intimate partner against another.
