Despite the disappointment of losing the Allianz League Division 3 Football Final less that 24 hours earlier, Kildare captain, Kevin Feely, was present at the launch of the Leinster Football Championship in Cedral St Conleth’s Park last week and he and gave a performance that was equal to any of the high standards he sets on the pitch. Like his team mates the Athy man feels great pride in the newly developed Cedral St Conleth’s Park.

A mighty haul of six two pointers, four from frees and two from play, from Jay O’Brien helped Kildare face down the challenge of Wexford in Chadwick’s Wexford Park on Wednesday evening. The victory puts Kildare into the Dalata Hotel Group Leinster U20 FC semi-final in two weeks time. The Round Towers man was Kildare’s shinning light on the night returning a fifteen-point tally helped by those two pointers.

The disappointment of the loss to Dublin in last year’s Leinster MFC semi-final in Manguard Park and buoyed by the capture of the McGirr Cup in Park Tailteann some weeks later Niall Cronin and his 2025 Minor Football Panel are eagerly looking forward to this year’s Leinster campaign. The Lilywhites travel to Glennon Brothers Pearse Park on Saturday for Round 1 in Group 2. Throw in 2pm, Referee Enda Kelly (Westmeath). Also included in Group 2 are Meath and Westmeath.
