PEORIA, Illinois (WMBD) – Morton girls soccer dominated Dunlap 8-1 Tuesday night at home that sets the Potters up with the inside track to repeat as Mid-Illini Conference champs. On senior night, the Potters netted four goals in the first 19 minutes to jump ahead of the Eagles and cruise the rest of the way. In softball, No. 2 in 3A Dunlap staved off an upset bid from Limestone 4-3 to stay undefeated in league play and alone atop the conference standings.

PEORIA, Illinois (WMBD) – Washington baseball takes sole control of first place in the Mid-Illini after a 6-1 win over Dunlap Monday night in Washington. Carter Prina picked up a win for the Panthers and their offense generated 11 hits in the victory. Dunlap drops into a tie for 2nd place with Morton after the Potters were defeated in a 1-0 pitchers duel by East Peoria. Illinois State commit RJ Duncheon picked up the complete game shutout win with 16 strikeouts for the Raiders.

CHATHAM, Illinois (WMBD) – Morton girls soccer earned a massive road win Saturday afternoon, taking down Chatham Glenwood 5-2. The Potters got on the board just 12 minutes into the game off a goal from Edit Hart after a pass from Sophia Davila. Chatham would get the equalizer however just minutes later. In the 20th minute, Davila breaks a 1-1 tie with a shot just inside the right post. Glenwood would respond with yet another equalizer shortly after.

PEORIA, Illinois (WMBD) – Illinois State baseball beat MVC leader Missouri State 7-3 at home on Saturday. In DIII, Illinois Wesleyan clinched the CCIW conference title with a doubleheader sweep of Carthage. At the high school level, Normal Community, Normal West, Central Catholic, and Eureka all picked up non-conference wins. Illini Bluffs softball defeated Limestone 11-1. Morton High school hosted the annual Distance Gala track meet.
