    5 1/1 A man launched a firework into a large crowd attending a display causing panic and seriously injuring four people, a court has heard. Aidas Berzinskas, 24, fired it into the Fawkes in the Walks event in King's Lynn from a nearby address. Norwich Crown Court heard he was caught after a member of the public spotted the firework come from the property on Silfield Terrace, next to the town's Walks park where crowds had gathered for the display.

    King's Lynn Crown Court (Image: Newsquest) A man is to stand trial accused of driving at a pedestrian who suffered serious injury. Giacomo Gagnani appeared at King's Lynn Crown Court on Thursday (May 8) when he denied causing grievous bodily harm with intent. The 57-year-old also denied causing serious injury by dangerous driving and dangerous driving. It follows an incident in Lynn in October 2022 when he got into a car and drove at the alleged victim.

    3 1/1 A teenager will stand trial accused of attempted murder following a knife attack in Norwich's clubland district. The 17-year-old, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, has been accused of attempted murder, wounding with intent and having an article with a blade or point - a knife - in Prince of Wales Road. It follows an incident which saw a man receive multiple stab wounds after allegedly being attacked with a knife in the early hours of April 6.

    2 1/1 A man will be sentenced next week after he admitted damaging a Norfolk church. Mark Hudgell had been charged with criminal damage after £1,000 worth of damage was caused to glass doors at the Gospel Hall Church in Great Yarmouth. The 61-year-old, of no fixed abode, will be sentenced at Norwich Crown Court on Tuesday, May 13. Hudgell had been due to be sentenced earlier this week but no prosecution barrister was available so the case was adjourned.

    Norwich Crown Court (Image: Peter Walsh, Newsquest) A woman who torched a mattress at a refuge in Norwich has failed to appear for her sentencing hearing. Tiffany Leach, 53, who is in custody, has previously admitted arson being reckless as to whether life was endangered and destroying property. It was after she set fire to a mattress at a Norwich hostel and also damaged a religious statue at St John the Baptist Roman Catholic Cathedral in the city.
