WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Following last weekβs storms that tore through south-central Kansas, many in the Wichita area are left to clean up tree debris. A close call for first responders on Sunday prompted a safety warning from the Wichita Fire Department, especially when it comes to tree trimming. On Sunday evening, the WFD responded to a medical call on South Madison Street, where someone working to cut limbs fell from a tree and landed on their back.

(KWCH) - The AUSL, a new professional softball league, had its final game of its inaugural season at Wichita State Universityβs Wilkins Stadium, wrapping up a successful run in a town that embraces the sport. While in Wichita, the games were a hit, nearly selling out the stadium and providing an economic boost. Two-thirds of the 24 games thatβve been played in the AUSL have had nearly sold-out crowds, including at the home of Wichita Stateβs softball team.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KWCH) - The Hutchinson community is mourning the death of a beloved sports broadcaster and long-time Hutchinson High School teacher and golf coach. Rusty Hilst died early Wednesday morning after a long battle with ALS. He leaves behind a legacy in Hutchinson that may never be forgotten. βI love Rusty Hilst and Iβm very happy that thousands of other people do, too,β said Hilstβs longtime friend and broadcast partner Dan Naccarato. Hilst battled ALS for years.
