Protests in Dublin are set to disrupt traffic on Saturday afternoon with tensions expected to be high in the city centre. Luas services have already been disrupted as a result. In an update on Saturday afternoon, the Luas provider said: "Green Line services are operating between Brides Glen and St. Stephen's Green and between Broombridge and Dominick only due to a protest taking place in the City Centre. "Red Line services are operating between Tallaght / Saggart and Smithfield only.

Protests in Dublin are set to disrupt traffic this afternoon with tensions expected to be high in the city centre. An anti-immigration protest is set to start from the Garden of Remembrance at 2pm. The Irish Alliance is one of the groups behind the demonstration and shared footage of Conor McGregor at the Parnell Square site ahead of the protest. A counter demonstration has also been organised which is expected to begin at 1:30pm.

Tributes have flowed for trader Siobhan Hegarty - who was described as the "life and soul of Moore Street" - after her death. A missing person's appeal for Siobhan, 46, was issued by gardai on Sunday, but sadly, that appeal was stood down after the discovery of a woman's body in north county Dublin on Monday. Siobhan's daughter Lauren thanked all the people who helped find her "beautiful Mam", and said she will "always look after" her impending grandson.

An elderly woman was rushed to hospital after she was attacked by a dog in Dublin on Tuesday afternoon. The lady, in her 70s, was reportedly visiting a neighbour's house when the attack occurred at around 2.45pm. Gardaí and ambulance services responded to the incident and the woman was brought to Beaumont Hospital for treatment. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, reports Dublin Live. A spokesperson confirmed that the dog involved in the attack was removed by a local dog warden.

A group of Dublin jarveys have insisted they "won't be going anywhere" after new plants which block their usual parking spots were placed on the street near St Stephen's Green. The jarveys have shepherded tourists around Dublin city in their horse-pulled carriages for decades, and the sight of the horses is common to all who frequent the Stephen's Green and Grafton Street areas.
