(Nebraska Athletics Press Release) - The No. 21 Nebraska softball team notched its second straight run-rule win with a 10-1 victory over the Northwestern Wildcats in five innings on Sunday in Evanston, Ill. The Huskers moved to 31-10 (10-3 Big Ten) on the year, while Northwestern fell to 20-14-1 (9-3 Big Ten). With the series win, the Big Red snapped the Wildcats’ streak of winning 20 consecutive Big Ten series.

    LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Three people were taken to a Lincoln hospital after a crash near the Belmont neighborhood on Sunday night. The crash happened around 9:45 p.m. at Yolande Avenue and Cornhusker Highway, involving two vehicles. Lincoln Fire and Rescue, as well as Lincoln Police were both on scene, with LFR paramedics transporting three patients. LPD has not released any information on the conditions of those who have been hospitalized. Police are investigating the crash.

    LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska Athletics Press Release) - Max Buettenback went 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBI, as Nebraska defeated No. 22 Kansas 7-5 at Hoglund Ballpark in Lawrence, Kan. Nebraska (15-18) scored seven runs on eight hits, while Kansas (27-7) recorded five runs, five hits and two errors. Buettenback led the Big Red at the plate with the three-hit effort, followed by Cayden Brumbaugh going 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI and a run scored.

(KOLN) - Another dominant Nebraska win in non-conference play was somewhat overshadowed by what appeared to be a serious, non-contact leg injury sustained by one the Huskers’ star players. Nebraska picked up their fifth win in a row to start the year, soundly defeating North Alabama 85-48 at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Tuesday night. Five Huskers finished with 10 points or more, including Callin Hake - who scored a career-high 17 points.

(Nebraska Athletics Press Release) - Homegrown Huskers Alexis Markowski and Britt Prince shined as the No. 23 Nebraska women’s basketball team defeated Doane 89-52 in exhibition action at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Sunday. Markowski led the Big Red with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while adding three assists and three blocked shots, while Prince pitched in double figures with 12 points, two assists and three steals in her Husker debut in front of 4,772 fans at PBA.
