    LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Nebraska’s Cornhusker State Games are about to get a little extra attention from a national sports entity. ESPN announced on Monday that SportsCenter will feature the games during the Tuesday, July 15th edition of their “50 States in 50 Days” tour. “SportsCenter will bring its anchors, production, and cameras directly to fans across the country — highlighting unique events, hometown stories, and the athletes that define each region,” according to a press release.

    LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Nebraska Department of Transportation has released the May numbers for traffic fatalities from across Nebraska. The department says 16 people were killed in 14 crashes that happened in different areas of the state. One surprising number that stands out is that out of the 16 deaths, 15 of them occurred in rural areas. Another stat that stands out is the number of fatalities that happened on Nebraska’s highways.

    LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Police say they are searching for a missing 76-year-old woman who went missing from a south Lincoln grocery store. In a social media post, LPD says Charlotte Starkey “wandered away” from the Russ’s Market near 33rd and Nebraska Parkway around 8 p.m. Thursday night. “Charlotte was on foot wearing a long-sleeved, white t-shirt, an orange undershirt, dark blue jeans, grey shoes and a black baseball cap,” police stated.

    LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - One person has been hospitalized after being struck by the driver of a Toyota Tacoma in southeast Lincoln early Wednesday morning, according to police. Lincoln Fire and Rescue, as well as Lincoln Police, were sent to the area of 53rd Street and Normal Boulevard around 3:15 a.m.According to a crash report, a witness told police she was traveling eastbound on Normal Boulevard when she noticed car parts and a man on the ground.

    LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - One person has been hospitalized after being struck by a pickup in southeast Lincoln early Wednesday morning. Lincoln Fire and Rescue, as well as Lincoln Police, were sent to the area of 53rd and Normal around 3:15 a.m.LFR took the victim was taken to an area hospital, but Lincoln Police would not tell 10/11 how serious the injuries were. A reporter at the scene said officers were interviewing two people on the south side of Normal Boulevard near a red Toyota Tacoma.
