SERGEANT BLUFF — Andy Osborne looked out on the field after the Bishop Heelan High School baseball team swept Sergeant Bluff-Luton and was pleased. Very pleased. Osborne searched for critiques of his Class 3A No. 7 Crusaders after they scored a pair of wins of the 3A No. 6 Warriors, but little came to mind after Heelan beat SB-L 9-4 and 9-0 in Sergeant Bluff on Wednesday night in Missouri River Activities Conference play. SIOUX CENTER, Iowa — Two teams proved to be evenly matched, but only one could move on. That was the case in several locations around the state as the boys' state soccer quarterfinals got underway at regional sites across the stage. But nowhere did it prove more true than in Sioux Center, where the No. 4-ranked Warriors and No. 7 Webster City went 80 minutes of regulation and 20 minutes of overtime scoreless before the game was decided on the final round of penalty kicks.
