    The probabilities of some severe weather increase with a pattern change late this week. Weather Impact Alert issued for both Saturday and Sunday. ST. LOUIS — A spring time pattern change for the end of this week will bring another chance of strong to severe storms into the middle part of the country. While there is a threat of severe weather, it should be noted that the atmosphere does not appear to be as energetic or dynamic as it was on March 14th.

    Arctic air spills into the region Sunday night into Monday. Temperatures will likely fall into the single digits for lows, teens for highs next week, snow Tuesday. ST. LOUIS — The arctic air is poised to return to the region during the day Sunday. We have issued a Weather Impact Alert for frigid temperatures from Monday through Thursday. In many cases, outlying areas are expected to see overnight and early morning temperatures fall to near zero or just below zero.

    A cold front is expected to sweep through the St. Louis region on Thursday with a band or two of stronger storms. ST. LOUIS — After scattered showers and thunderstorms rolled across the region on Tuesday, some with hail and gusty winds, another round of storms is expected Thursday. The Weather First team is tracking another system that appears to have the ingredients to create at least some scattered stronger storms by Thursday afternoon.

    Another cold night is expected with temperatures cold enough for frost across much of the metro area. Temperatures may drop into the upper 20s for some in Illinois. ST. LOUIS — In the wake of a strong storm system that brought heavy rain and strong storms to Missouri and Illinois earlier this week, colder air has returned. The large weather system responsible for all the weather changes this week continues drifting east across the Great Lakes Friday afternoon.

LOUIS — With the second warmest February in recorded history in St. Louis, many plants are already coming to life across the region. Much of Missouri and Illinois is seeing the first leaf out running about three weeks ahead of the 30-year average. Data from the USA National Phenology Network tracks how the spring season is evolving.
