Bay Port girls soccer is off to a strong start despite injuries to key players, including Natalie Squire and Macie Brosteau. Freshman Ava Nagel is emerging as a dominant scorer for the Pirates. The team's veteran leadership has embraced the younger players, creating a positive team dynamic. Bay Port girls soccer coach Brooke Mraz has been around long enough to know that what happens during the season doesn’t always matter come playoff time. Her Pirates might be the best example.

Natisha Hiedeman led Southwest girls basketball to three straight winning seasons and a 51-23 record after almost a decade of losing seasons. The former Marquette star was drafted into the WNBA in 2019 and is entering her seventh season in the league. Hiedeman has played in three WNBA Finals and continues to excel professionally, also having played overseas and coached at Penn State.
