MADISON, Wis. -- Two construction workers were injured Wednesday morning, following a possible underground explosion at a residential construction site in downtown Madison. According to the Madison Fire Department, firefighters responded to reports of a possible fire at 301 N. Broom Street just before 8 a.m.Several manhole covers in the area showed smoke, according to MFD. One firefighter told News 3 Now reporter Elly Laliberte that an "underground explosion" may have been the cause of the fire.

MADISON, Wis. -- Traffic is shut down at Broom St. & W. Dayton as the Madison Fire Department responded to a structure fire on the 300 block W. Broom Street. As of 8:15 Wednesday morning, fire officials said traffic along W. Johnson Street and W. Gorham Street, between Broom Street and State Street, is also impacted. Fire crews were dispatched to the area downtown just before 8 a.m.Madison Fire said to avoid the area and choose alternate routes if you are driving near the impacted area.

MADISON, Wis. -- The 2,000 famed sunburst chairs will return to the Memorial Union Terrace Wednesday morning. To mark the annual tradition, the Union is hosting an Opening of the Terrace Party from 4 to 6 p.m.At 7 p.m., guests can attend an Open Mic Night hosted by the Wisconsin Union Directorate Music Committee and Moda Magazine, which marks the start of WUD Music’s nine-event music series WUDstock. The Wisconsin Union held its first full Terrace season in 1929.
