    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Millions of people across the U.S. lined the streets on Saturday, April 12, as part of the hands-off movement. Rallies like this are happening across the country in over 1,400 locations, with about a thousand people gathered in Memphis. “This is our freedom of speech. This is a right,” said Memphis resident Donna Palmer. Protesters in Memphis said they’re concerned about government leaders and their decisions, so they gathered together to take a stand.

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Over 60 flood fighters have been deployed after the Mid-South received a tremendous amount of rain last week.   Flood concerns for rivers in the Mid-South are being addressed. Flooded areas are being actively monitored, sandbags are being utilized, and technical support is being offered. Some areas are still being observed by the U.S. Army Memphis District as reaching their highest flood points, especially across the St. Francis Basin.

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Generational rainfall slammed the Mid-South early April, causing devastating floods across the region last weekend. Now overflowing rivers are threatening more communities throughout the area. Rivers in the Mid-South are experiencing flooding throughout the region after last week’s severe weather storm. “We have had in our area a responsibility of about 15 inches of rain," Memphis District Emergency Operations Manager, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kandi Waller said.

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphians are working to get their lives back on track after severe weather this past weekend. Flooding impacted many homes and recreational Shelby County areas. Residents that visit these areas often were shocked to see the effect the flooding had. “It’s pretty crazy. I didn’t realize it was this devastating,” said Memphian Cedar Dean. Memphian Moth Moskop hopes that the conditions will not impact local wildlife or local tourism in an overly negative way.
