ROCHESTER, N.Y. – We deserve a nice weekend after the damp, cloudy and cool weather we’ve had over the last few days, and Mother Nature will deliver! The low that has plagued us all week will finally kick east by early Saturday morning. This will set us up for a lovely Mother’s Day weekend filled with sunshine. Saturday will warm into the mid and upper 60s (away from Lake Ontario) under a mostly sunny sky. A moisture starved cold front will pass through Saturday night with very little fanfare.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Clouds will remain stubborn for one more day on Friday before sunshine makes a welcomed return. A cold front stalling out just to our south will be the focus for another wave of low pressure on Friday. This means clouds will stick around, and a few showers are possible, especially in the Finger Lakes. A stray shower is possible closer to Rochester, but most of the day should remain dry.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – After a soaking rain dropped up to 3-3.5″ over parts of Wayne County on Wednesday into Thursday morning, we’re drying things out a bit more to end the work week. The area of low pressure responsible for the wet weather has moved far enough away to pull most of the rain east. That being said, we’ll still see a few showers from time to time, and the low will stall over New England.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A Yellow Alert is up through Tuesday night for the potential for slow moving thunderstorms to produce localized flooding and flash flooding. Strong to severe thunderstorms in southern NYS moving northward will tend to weaken, but will be producing locally heavy rain. These will be slow moving storms and training thunderstorms, which means they will tend to develop over the same areas.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – An upper level low remains “stuck” over the lower Great Lakes and Ohio Valley much of this week, keeping our weather unsettled, but far from a washout any day. Any thunder will fade, and we’ll be left with a few showers Monday night into early Tuesday morning. Outside of a stray shower early Tuesday, we should start the day mainly dry with some sun. As the air heats up, we’ll see a better chance for a few afternoon thunderstorms.
