Worried parents feared the 'worst' at a Teesside secondary school when it went into lockdown after a teacher attack. Cleveland Police confirmed that there was no weapon involved in the drama, during which a teacher was assaulted - but in the chaos children and parents were left anxious. Officers were called to Manor Community College in Hartlepool on Thursday, April 3, when some 'unauthorised individuals breached the school premises'. Two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of assault.

Parents are being told to collect their children from a secondary school in Hartlepool as police are called to reports of 'violence'. A number of police cars are at the scene at Manor Community Academy, of Owton Manor Lane, on Thursday afternoon. The incident, believed to be violence against staff, is said to be "contained and under control" but there has been no official confirmation by Cleveland Police at this time.
