Emergency crews resumed their search Monday for a 5-year-old boy who fell into the Genesee River in downtown Rochester. The child fell from the Andrews Street bridge around 4:40 p.m. Sunday, the Democrat and Chronicle reported. He had been walking with his mother, who was pushing another child in a stroller, when he ran ahead and climbed onto the bridge railing. Tonight, the skies over Upstate New York might just put on a rare and dazzling show as the northern lights flirt with a visit much farther south than usual. A strong geomagnetic storm alert has been issued for June 1 by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Space Weather Prediction Center. Aurora could possibly be seen across New York and as far south as Alabama and Northern California.
