(WJTV) – A local 5th grader at Magee Elementary School is proving that it’s never too early to start on anything you put your mind to. 11-year-old Ayden Johnson published his first book on Amazon. It’s called, “The Awkmards.”“When I saw the word awkward, I wanted to make it different so I decided to replace the ‘w’ with an ‘m,'” said Ayden. His book highlights the importance of keeping your imagination alive.

MADISON, Miss. (WJTV) – Fourth graders at Madison Crossing Elementary School had an epic “Rock day” to explore their geology unit. “It’s fun to learn about it. I never knew that [rocks] were made out of lava that spills on the ground when a volcano erupts,” said Jarrel Young. Beverly Green loves everything there is to learn about geology, and even dressed the part of a geologist.

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The I See success Too Learning Center located on Dixie Drive is a daycare in Jackson. It’s a family run business and it started with the owner Artemesia Thompson. “My mom is the owner. I came up with the name,” said Ar’keesia Thompson, Director and one of the preschool teachers. The daycare has been in operation since 2021. “I like to play and read,” said 5-year-old Kali Bogan. Kali says she likes to see her friends at the daycare, read and draw: “I like to draw silly faces.”.

White, who is a Jackson native, launched Jackson’s first permanent supportive housing campus for the homeless in 2022. It wasn’t long after when White opened a maternity home for Mississippi’s young mothers, ages 16 to 21. Her most current project is the development of an 18-acre all inclusive campus, providing support services, housing and medical services.
