The federal minimum wage has not been raised since 2009. In the absence of action at the national level, 30 states and 63 localities have raised their own minimum wages beyond the federal minimum of $7.25.

Boeing, which had previously owned GKN until selling it off in 2001, said the facility is critical to the production of its fighter jets.
