    (Shenandoah) Atlantic rallied for two runs in the top of the seventh inning to edge Shenandoah 8-7 Thursday at Sportsman’s Park. The Trojans tallied eight runs on seven hits. Sawyer Tarrell led the way with two hits and a run scored, while Gavin McLaren delivered an RBI double, stole a base, and scored once. Shenandoah collected seven runs on six hits. Dalton Athen contributed an RBI double, a stolen base, and a run scored. Cole Scamman added a single and also crossed the plate.

Following a drier-than-normal April, May experienced decreased rainfall across all regions of the state, leading to an increase in drought and abnormally dry conditions. While early rain events initially helped maintain stable dry conditions, lower rainfall amounts later in the month resulted in deteriorating conditions across Iowa.
