SMALL GRAINS AND OTHER FIELD CROPS: Dried beans and mixed grains are being exported to Guadeloupe and Martinique, as well as national retailers. Corn and sorghum fields that have been harvested are being fertilized and tilled for winter wheat planting. Many of the fields that are typically used for row crops and forage crops are being leveled with either mechanical or laser levels.Black-eyed bean harvest is complete in Tulare County. Cotton is being moved to the gins for further processing.

(St. Paul, MN) -- The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is introducing a new marine unit that will focus on boating safety. Officials said yesterday the new unit will be highly visible in the state's busiest boating areas. Officers will be stationed in the Twin Cities metro as well as Duluth and Alexandria. The DNR is asking boaters to be safe during the holiday weekend by wearing life jackets, being patient on the water and leaving the alcohol on shore.
