SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — There is still financial aid coming in for those impacted by the recent flooding. The Siouxland Recovery Fund announced Wednesday that it has collected over $200,000 in donations. The fund, lead by the United Way of Siouxland, provides financial resources for local organizations that are helping others recover from the flooding. United Way of Siouxland President Heather Hennings told KCAU 9 that the fund greatly helps flood victims in the long term.

NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. (KCAU) – A rail bridge in between North Sioux City and Riverside has partially collapsed. North Sioux City Police say the bridge collapsed at 10:49 P.M. Sunday. Woodbury County holds audit following primary election

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Woodbury County held its 2024 post-election audit Thursday afternoon at the Woodbury County Courthouse. The audit is required by law. After an election, Iowa’s Secretary of State will randomly draw a precinct from each county to hand count the votes to make sure that the ballot machines accurately counted them properly. This year’s random selection turned out to be one of the smallest precincts for Woodbury County, where only 10 votes had to be counted.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — This year’s Rockin’ for a Cure Pete Goede ALS Benefit Concert was another big success. According to preliminary estimates, the benefit concert, held Sunday inside Anthem at Hard Rock Casino, is expected to raise over $45,000 to support families in Nebraska and Iowa living with ALS. Three puppies which were auctioned off raised over $11,000 alone. The concert is named in honor of The Establishment band member Pete Goede, who passed away from ALS in 2015.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Every year, 5,600 people are diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s disease, also known as ALS. KCAU 9 aims to help those affected and hopes that you will too. KCAU 9’s parent company, Nexstar Media Group, has donated $10,000 to ALS in the Heartland. The Omaha-based organization helps people diagnosed with ALS and their families in Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota. ALS in the Heartland’s executive director Tammy Stalzer said the donation will go a long way.
