The Sergeant Bluff-Luton Community School District was one of ten school districts in Iowa given a grant to fund therapeutic classrooms for students with social, emotional, or behavioral needs.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — There is still financial aid coming in for those impacted by the recent flooding. The Siouxland Recovery Fund announced Wednesday that it has collected over $200,000 in donations. The fund, lead by the United Way of Siouxland, provides financial resources for local organizations that are helping others recover from the flooding. United Way of Siouxland President Heather Hennings told KCAU 9 that the fund greatly helps flood victims in the long term.

NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. (KCAU) – A rail bridge in between North Sioux City and Riverside has partially collapsed. North Sioux City Police say the bridge collapsed at 10:49 P.M. Sunday. The train bridge is located above the Big Sioux River between North Sioux City, and the Riverside neighborhood of Sioux City. KCAU 9 reached out to Union County Emergency Manager Jason Westcott.

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Woodbury County held its 2024 post-election audit Thursday afternoon at the Woodbury County Courthouse. The audit is required by law. After an election, Iowa’s Secretary of State will randomly draw a precinct from each county to hand count the votes to make sure that the ballot machines accurately counted them properly. This year’s random selection turned out to be one of the smallest precincts for Woodbury County, where only 10 votes had to be counted.

Authorities told KCAU 9 that Wesley Staten, 31, was arrested by U.S. Marshals last Thursday in Jefferson County, Alabama.
