The suspect in the death of Cleveland Clinic nurse Aliza Sherman is back in Northeast Ohio. Sherman’s former divorce attorney, Gregory Moore, was identified as a suspect in her death and arrested at a relative’s home near Austin, Texas, on May 2. Moore was indicted by a Cuyahoga County grand jury and was being held in Williamson County Jail in Texas. He waived a formal extradition hearing on May 14.

Thousands of runners hit the streets of Cleveland for the annual Cleveland Marathon. Among the runners was Rebekah Savage. She took steps on Sunday to keep her brother’s legacy alive. Ryan Walker was killed by a drunk driver in September 2022. Driver that killed college student headed back to Bowling Green had been drinking, said police.

The University Circle Police Department transformed into a barber shop for a couple of hours this weekend. The department collaborated with the Keratin Barber College to provide free haircuts for children and adults on Saturday. According to University Circle Police Chief Tom Wetzel, the owner of the barber shop and four student barbers donated their time and talents to support the department’s community policing and youth outreach program.

CLEVELAND — House Bill 131 is making its way through the Ohio House of Representatives. It would ban police chiefs and sheriffs from requiring quotas for traffic tickets. Right now, it is legal for any police chief or sheriff to require a certain number of tickets to be written. “Ticket quotas are detrimental in police work,” said Willoughby Hills Police Chief Matthew Naegele. Naegele supports the bill, and he said so do most other police chiefs.
