Pitt men’s basketball attempted to get back on track in their ACC opener against Clemson. Their comeback attempt came up short when the Panthers fell to the Tigers for their third loss in four games. Here are my takeaways from the Panthers’ loss to the Tigers. Zack Austin is a defensive menaceOutside of the performance of senior forward Blake Hinson, the lone positive from the Panthers’ ACC opener was the defensive play of redshirt junior forward Zack Austin.

Pitt (4-5, 0-0 ACC) triumphed over Binghamton (2-7, 0-0 AEC) 73-62 in their first face-off in program history at the Petersen Event Center Sunday afternoon. A second Nakba is happening in Palestine — the numbers of the displaced are higher than they were in 1948. Nearly 70% of Israel’s victims are women and children. I have seen and heard these two phrases repeatedly in the last weeks, in articles, at protests and in poems.

1:42 am Warped Tour was an American music festival full of rock, alternative, pop-punk, indie rock and other bands of similar genres that would sometimes even stop in Canada. The festival started in 1995 and ended in 2019. I may have never gone to Warped Tour, but it is because I did not get the opportunity and I really wish I could have gotten tickets. This festival paved the way for so many huge bands in the rock, alternative, pop-punk and indie rock scenes.

The all-gender a capella group hosted a murder mystery-themed showcase on Dec. 2 in the William Pitt Union, opening with a blacked-out stage and the sound of one of their members “killing” an unknown victim. Throughout the hour-long show of a capella performances, with a progression of songs that subtly hinted at the identity of the killer, it was the audience’s mission to identify the culprit.

In 2020, Suzanne Collins released her newest addition to the hit series Hunger Games Trilogy, a prequel titled “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.” Last week, the novel took a new form as it premiered on big screens as a full-fledged movie. Though the previous films depict President Coriolanus Snow as a wealthy man, this prequel presents viewers with a completely different character. Poverty-stricken and orphaned, Snow is dedicated to do anything he can to secure his success — no matter the cost.

Grammy season is finally upon us, and I am beyond excited. As an avid music listener, I always find it fun to see which of my favorite artists gets nominated for such prestigious awards. This year was no exception as it gave many amazing artists the opportunity to compete for a Grammy. Even though these artists are very talented, I have some very strong opinions on who I think should win and who will most likely win in certain categories.
