This year’s annual Memorial Day program in the park will be a good time to come out and see it. It will be starting at 11 a.m. EDT on Monday, May 26th. The granite marker bears the names of local men who lost their lives during World War II.

Trikweze Bridges, who was recently drafted by the Los Angeles Chargers, was presented a plaque by Mayor Jamie Heard and council members in a recent ceremony at City Hall. “We want to honor you and your outstanding achievements,” Mayor Heard told him as he presented him the plaque.

She told them that the current school board and the federal judge overseeing the case were in agreement that such a school will be built on a selected site in Valley and will be designed to accommodate an estimated 900 students.
