LEXINGTON — Highland’s Toby Rogers was a star among the stars at Friday night’s 46th annual News Journal All-Star Classic. The Scots’ standout poured in a whopping 36 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to garner MVP honors at the boys basketball clash. Rogers led five teammates in twin figures as the North rolled to a 150-114 pounding of the South at Lexington High School.

LEXINGTON — Shelby’s Eve Schwemley enjoyed a superb girls basketball career at Shelby High School. On Friday night, she concluded it in fine fashion. The Whippets’ standout, who cracked 1,000 points as part of her prep resume, earned MVP honors at the Telegraph-Forum Girls Basketball Showcase at Lexington High School. Schwemley scored 20 points, grabbed seven rebounds and handed out two assists to lead the East to a 76-49 win over the West in the region’s all-star game.
