Richard Hodges avoided the spotlight for years while assisting the Union Springs Central School District with its athletic programs. But on Saturday, the 86-year-old was front and center as the district's Athletic Hall of Fame recognized him with the Jake O'Connor Award. Hodges told The Citizen before the ceremony that he was shocked and honored when he learned about the award earlier this year.

Skaneateles boys lacrosse picked up its 10th straight win on Friday by defeating LaFayette/Onondaga on the road, 20-8. The No. 4-state-ranked Lakers netted nine third-quarter goals to lead them to the victory. Landen Brunelle racked up five goals and dished out four assists. Braeden Taggart also dropped in five goals. Ty Calabro had four scores and one assist. Luke Mizro posted a hat trick and a pair of assists, while Charlie Carbonaro came away with a trio of assists and one goal.
