Carlow County Council have received a planning application for new retail premises unit in vacant sports retail unit to be used as a deli and a grocery retail premises on Tullow Street in Carlow Town. The proposed development is hoping to take place at number 146 of Tullow Street. The planning permission was received by the Carlow County Council on the 15th of April 2025, with no current date set for the Council to make a decision on the proposal.

Students from local County Carlow school, St Leo's College, were present at the most recent April meeting of the Carlow County Council. They presented to the Councillors their YSI (Young Social Innovators) project titled 'Phone Phobia' which sparked an interesting debate amongst the Councillors.

Carlow County Council have provided conditional planning approval for a planning application for the change of use of office to a café and community hub in County Carlow. The planning permission was received by the Carlow County Council on the 10th of January 2025, with a decision not set to be made till the 27th of April but the decision has already been made by the Council. The decision comes with 5 conditions that must be followed in the conversion of the office.

At the most recent April meeting of the Carlow County Council, People Before Profit Solidarity Councillor Adrienne was unhappy about the amount of travel that has been on the Carlow County Council's meeting agendas as of late. The discussion came about as a motion to approve travel for Councillors to visit Echternach in Luxemburg. The Councillors on the agenda to make the trip were the Fianna Fáil Coucillors, Andrea Dalton, Ken Murnane, and Fintan Phelan.
