The LHS provides the strategic direction in relation to housing provision. It also informs future investment in housing and related services across the local authority area. Building on the success of the previous strategy between 2019 and 2024, the updated LHS sets out the council’s vision for the future of housing and housing-related services over the next five years.

Darren Noble, 47, was last seen in the Keir Hardie Hill area of the town at around 8.35pm on Wednesday, June 25, according to police. He was with his two dogs, who were later found near to Dumfries House estate.

Stagecoach is ceasing to operate a host of services in Dumfries and Galloway from August due to a lack of commercial viability. Dumfries and Galloway Council has now awarded 45 contracts lasting seven years for routes it subsidises, following a successful tender process.
