    Officers from the Metropolitan Police were called at 12.27pm today (June 3) with reports of an incident in Carshalton Road. Paramedic colleagues, London's Air Ambulance and the London Fire Brigade were also dispatched to the scene. A car was found to have crashed with two pedestrians waiting at a bus stop along the road. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. A 42-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink-driving and remains in custody as enquiries continue.

    Raynes Park Post Office has been saved from closure after a campaign was launched by local Liberal Democrats. It will remain open under a new independent franchise operator, offering the same services. The transition is expected to be completed by September 2025. The Raynes Park Liberal Democrat team launched a petition to prevent its closure and engaged with the Post Office directly.
