2 1/1 Two people have been reported for road traffic offences following a serious accident that resulted in an air ambulance being called to Alloa. Clackmannan Road was closed by on Friday afternoon by emergency services, after a car crashed into a motorbike. Traffic built up around the area as the busy road near the town's McDonald's and Recreation Park was shut from both ends.

5 1/1 Over the last fortnight or so, toads have been congregating throughout Clackmannanshire on favoured ancestral breeding ponds for their annual spawning season. It can be a spectacular sight and is often enough to put even the most depraved Roman orgy to shame, given the incredible intensity of the mating that for many of its participants will be their final act.

7 1/1 It is always a joy to spot otters on the River Devon, and recently it was a real treat to have a close encounter with two on the stretch of river between Dollar and Tillicoultry. I had spent the previous couple of hours wandering the haugh of the river, but it had been turning out to be one of those days when not much wildlife was about. I was hoping to spot at least one kingfisher, but alas there was nary a glimpse.
