The Planning Inspectorate has rejected appeals submitted by Joanne Cox, landlady of the Moorcock Inn, at Garsdale. The Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority (YDNPA) issued two enforcement notices after work was done at the pub without planning permission.

An artist's impression of the proposed BESS plant near East Rounton More than 1,000 people have objected to two battery energy storage systems (BESS) planned for the North Yorkshire countryside. Parish councils and countryside groups have also criticised the proposals at South Kilvington, near Thirsk, and East Rounton, between Northallerton and Yarm. The 1GW BESS plans have been submitted by green energy company NatPower.
