Goodyear is increasing prices on select consumer tire products in the U.S. and Canada, the company confirmed April 23. The Akron-based company said the increase will take effect beginning May 1 and will vary according to product. Price increases will range up to 4% in the U.S. and up to 6% in Canada. A 39-year-old Akron woman was injured April 22 when a stray bullet struck her in her Firestone Park apartment unit, Akron police Lt. Michael Murphy said. Officers responded to multiple calls of shots fired at about 9:04 p.m. in the 1300 block of Virginia Avenue, locating the victim suffering from a graze wound to her lower back, Akron police stated. She was treated at the scene by Akron Fire paramedics.

Some local businesses in the surveyed areas believe Trump's new tariffs are not only going to eventually impact their companies, but their customers as well. Fire crews from the Richfield Township Fire Department are attempting to put out a Streetsboro Road house fire, authorities confirmed. The fire reportedly broke out at a residence in the 3100 block of West Streetsboro Road just after 7 a.m. on April 22. There was no one in the home when the fire began, Richfield Township Fire confirmed. The cause and origin of the fire are still under investigation.

Angela Bellios, a former WNIR radio host, has died, Gary Guenther, chief investigator of the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office, confirmed. She was 53 years old. She was reportedly found dead at a friend's house of whom she was dog-sitting for on April 19. Her cause of death is pending an investigation, Guenther said. Bellios served as host of "The Morning Buzz" and worked at WNIR from 2013 to 2021. The reason behind her exit from the radio station was never made public.
