    The East Bremerton school will move to a temporary home for 18 months while a permanent campus is rebuilt on-site. BREMERTON — Armin Jahr Elementary School's Julie Fairall isn't ready to say so long to the home of the Orcas just yet. The first-year principal left such salutations to some of the visitors who made their way to 800 Dibb Street for Wednesday's farewell celebration of the 57-year-old school set for demolition later this year. "We still have two weeks of school," Fairall said.

    It's almost time for the Class of 2025 to participate in high school graduation ceremonies. The weather forecast looks promising with graduations set to kick off later this week with Crosspoint Christian Academy seniors set to receive their diplomas Friday at 7 p.m. at Gateway Fellowship Church in Poulsbo. South Kitsap will hold its graduation Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Tacoma Dome.

    A new community access to Kitsap Lake in Bremerton has opened, just in time for summer. The city project to rebuild a boat launch, dock and fishing pier wrapped up in May, when the dock opened to users. There are also outdoor showers, new pathways around the park and a picnic area at the two-acre facility, while irrigation equipment and landscaping is being installed. And more amenities are on the way soon, according to the city.

    FEDERAL WAY — As North Kitsap boys soccer players began peeling off their uniforms for the final time this spring, head coach Greg St. Peter didn't want his group dwelling in disappointment for too long following Saturday's 4-1 loss to Columbia River in the Class 2A state title game. "Be proud of yourselves, keep your head held high," said St. Peter, whose team finished with an 18-4 record.
