Court documents obtained by The Center Square reveal the timeline starting Friday, when the children’s panicked mother, Whitney Decker, went to Wenatchee police to report her ex-husband had not returned with their daughters, through Monday, when law enforcement discovered the dead children near a campsite off Icicle Road.

    The Thurston County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday proclaimed the month of June as LGBTQ+ Pride Month, with representatives from four support groups speaking to the board about their respective organizations. PFLAG Olympia, the New BoyZ Club, Pizza Klatch and Capital City Pride were represented at the podium in front of the commissioners. Olympia Mayor Dontae Payne also spoke to the board and the crowd before Commissioner Emily Clouse read the proclamation.

Onalaska’s Kiley Talley, Rainier’s Janess Blackburn and the Adna duo of Lillian Boyd and Karsyn Freeman had the four farthest throws of the season.     Microsoft is laying off 305 employees in Washington, almost three weeks after companywide cuts that saw 3% of the company's staff sent packing. The Redmond-based tech giant notified affected workers Monday, according to a state Employment Security Department filing. Microsoft wouldn't say if employees outside of Washington were affected by the latest layoffs, but revealed the layoffs represented much less than 1% of its total workforce.

    The City of Centralia is using the second half of the 2025 calendar year to evaluate its downtown trees and replace empty positions, as well as trees damaging sidewalks and roadways. Currently, the city has 124 total tree planting areas, including 75 Norway maples, 12 Japanese cherry trees and 37 empty positions — 27 of which are shrouded by concrete and 10 of which are in open landscaping areas.
