Graduation ceremonies took place on Saturday and among those who turned their tassels was a father and his daughter, who are now members of the class of 2025. Liv Clements and Reggie Johnson got to celebrate their accomplishment together. “It’s going to be a great story to tell,” Johnson said. Johnson worked at the university years ago in various departments to help support his family.

KEITHVILLE, La. (KSLA/Gray News) – The mother of a 2-year-old girl who was killed in a murder-suicide that left three others dead is at a loss for why it happened. Kara Hanning, the mom of 2-year-old Adalynn Mae Sadler, said she wouldn’t wish this tragedy on anybody. On May 5, the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office was called out to a home in Keithville, Louisiana, to do a welfare check. When deputies got there, they said Adalynn’s grandfather, 60-year-old Leroy Sadler, refused to communicate with them.

LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) - Nebraska fans will be able watch the Huskers’ season opener — live from Arrowhead Stadium — this fall on ESPN. Nebraska Athletics said in Tuesday’s announcement that the Huskers will kick off against Cincinnati in Kansas City at 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28. “The matchup with Cincinnati in Kansas City marks Nebraska’s second neutral-site opener in four seasons after opening the 2022 season against Northwestern in Dublin, Ireland,” the release states.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Neb. (KOLN) - The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man killed in a head-on collision east of Lincoln on Monday. Deputies and Eagle Fire and Rescue responded to a two-vehicle crash near 162nd and O streets around 12:28 p.m.A preliminary investigation determined that a Ford Focus driven by 61-year-old Thomas Heath was traveling eastbound on O Street when he drifted into the westbound lane, colliding with a Chevrolet Equinox, driven by a 32-year-old Lincoln man.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A Nebraska wrestler was dismissed from the team after his arrest in Lincoln on Sunday. A probable cause affidavit shows that officers with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Police Department were called to Smith Hall, a UNL residence hall, at 11:55 p.m. on Saturday. A female victim told police that someone tried to light her door on fire just 15 to 25 minutes before they arrived.
