Phil LeeLIBERAL, Kan. – There was no Thanksgiving hangover for the Seward County Community College women’s basketball team. After an epic come-from-behind victory against No. 23 Butler on Tuesday, followed by Thanksgiving break, the Lady Saints showed no sign of a letdown with an 82-57 win over the Pratt Beavers on Saturday at the Greenhouse. Seward extended its winning streak to three games, improving to 3-1 in conference play and 7-2 overall.

The program is at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8 in the Rapid Fit Showcase Theater on the SCCC campus. Admission is free and open to the public.

By Kevin Welch and Shelby Vogel KFDAThe Perryton school district is asking a federal court to dismiss a lawsuit that says it didn’t do enough to keep its former athletic director from sexually abusing and harassing a teenage girl. Cole Underwood is in the Randall County Jail waiting for his trial on the sexual allegations. The unnamed father of the girl is suing the district and Underwood, who the district previously fired. The district filed the motion to dismiss and answers to the claims Monday.

By Kevin Welch and Shelby Vogel (KFDA)A lawsuit filed in federal court is asking for financial penalties from Perryton ISD and former athletic director Cole Underwood for ongoing sexual misconduct. The father of the teen victim filed the suit saying it was well known at the district and Underwood’s former district, Amarillo ISD, that he had inappropriate relationships with minor female students.
