1 Introduction Stroke includes three subtypes: ischemic stroke (IS), non-traumatic intracranial hemorrhage, and spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage. Among them, ischemic stroke is the most common, which is the third cause of global disease burden (GBDS Collaborators 2021). Stroke not only leads to a significant loss of life but also imposes a considerable societal burden on survivors as their ability to take care of themselves declines (Palmer et al. 2019; Rost et al. 2022).
