Niagara Gazette

Niagara Gazette

The Niagara Gazette is a daily newspaper that comes out in the morning and is based in Niagara Falls, New York. It serves various areas in Niagara County, including the City of Niagara Falls and the Town of Niagara. From 1954 to 1997, the paper was owned by Gannett. However, when Gannett purchased Buffalo's WGRZ, federal regulations mandated that they sell the Niagara Gazette. As a result, Community Newspaper Holdings Inc. acquired the Gazette along with several other local newspapers, such as the Lockport Union-Sun & Journal and the previously published Tonawanda News.

ORCHARD PARK - Bobby Babich managed to field questions for 25 minutes without saying much. He's mastered the art of using a lot of words to reveal very little. The Buffalo Bills can only hope his defense is just as stingy this year. Nick Sabato can be reached via email at [email protected], on X @NickSabatoGNN or on Bluesky @nicksabatognn.bsky.social.

BUFFALO — That one-hit wonder that keeps repeating in your head might be an indication of your ability to sing accurately, according to a University at Buffalo researcher who co-authored a paper that examined earworms. An earworm (also known as Involuntary Musical Imagery) is a short repetitive section of music that occurs spontaneously and is sustained without effort.

Smoke from the massive wildfires in Canada is expected to affect residents across New York state, creating hazy skies with smoke thick enough to block the sun and lower the temperatures in some areas. Air quality in parts of the U.S. began worsening late last week as high-altitude winds carried smoke from dozens of wildfires in Canada southward.

The Niagara Falls City Council will consider a resolution at its meeting tonight to “accept as complete” an application filed with city planners by Niagara Falls Redevelopment (NFR) to establish a Negotiated Planned Development District, also known as a Planned Unit District (PUD) for the purpose of developing a proposed $1.5 billion data center campus in the South End. Council members will also be asked to approve taking on the role of “Lead Agency” in the environmental review of the project.
