Florida Times-Union
The Florida Times-Union is a daily newspaper located in Jacksonville, Florida. Recognized as the oldest newspaper in the state, it first hit the stands in 1864 under the name Florida Union. The newspaper evolved in 1883 when it merged with another local publication, the Florida Daily Times. In 1983, Morris Communications from Augusta, Georgia, acquired Florida Publishing Company, making the Times-Union the flagship newspaper of the group, which owns several newspapers nationwide. Currently, the paper is owned by Gannett, and its editor is Paul Runnestrand.
