GENEVA, Ala. (WDHN) — After a months-long search, a new superintendent has been chosen to lead the Geneva City School System. On Tuesday night, the Geneva City School board unanimously voted to appoint Jami Seay as superintendent. The vote was between Seay and Dr. Brian Thomas. Dr. Thomas is currently an assistant superintendent of the Dekalb County School System in north Alabama, and Seay is the principal at Mulkey Elementary in Geneva.

ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — SOS Animal Shelter in Enterprise is warning people of a scam causing harm to their non-profit. Someone with the shelter says they were on TikTok when the scam popped up, where an account was pretending to be SOS and was asking people to donate to their account. “We work really hard to raise funds for the SOS Animal Shelter, and that just kind of takes away from it,” President of the SOS Animal Shelter Board, Georgia Fleming said.

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) —The Northside Methodist Knights have officially announced who will lead their basketball program next season. Wiregrass native, Garrett Golden, will take over as head coach for the Knights, replacing Kody Kirchhoff. “First and foremost, I want to give the Lord all the praise, credit, honor, and glory for the opportunity to work with these young guys,” Golden said.

ASHFORD, Ala. (WDHN) — Amanda and Jason Boyd lost their dream home, but it could have been a lot worse if it weren’t for a Good Samaritan. The fire started Friday afternoon at their home off Bluff Springs Road in Ashford with three young girls and seven animals inside. A Good Samaritan was driving by the home and noticed the fire under the carport and jumped into action. “He got up here and knocked on the door,” Jason said.
