The incumbent candidate, the Conservative Party's Corey Tochor, is joined by four others, including Liberal candidate Greg Poelzer, NDP candidate Melissa McGillivray, Green Party candidate Isaiah Hunter, and People's Party candidate Jaxson Boot.

MEADOW LAKE – A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support the family of Adyson King, a young hockey player from Flying Dust First Nation, who was found deceased on April 16. Organized by the Waterhen Women’s Hockey Team on behalf of Adyson’s mother, Darcie King, the fundraiser aims to help cover memorial expenses. As of Friday afternoon, the campaign had raised $10,280 of its $15,000 goal through 96 donations.

ESTEVAN – The Estevan and District 2025 Music Festival is set to bring a diverse lineup of young local talents, who will be adjudicated by acclaimed musicians from Manitoba and Saskatchewan. The 61st festival will run from March 30 to April 8. This year’s festival adjudicators are tenor Spencer McKnight, conductor and educator Dr. Mark Tse, cellist Leanne Zacharias, and pianists Janis Smith and Dr. Daniel Tselyakov.

ESTEVAN – The Estevan Fire Rescue Service (EFRS) had a busy week, responding to a range of emergencies between Feb. 18 and Feb. 23, according to Fire Chief Rick Davies. The department was dispatched to multiple incidents on Feb. 18, including a commercial fire alarm in the south-central area of the city at around 9 a.m. Firefighters arrived to find smoke in a stairwell caused by a mechanical failure in a pump room. Crews confirmed there was no fire, ventilated the building and addressed the issue.

ESTEVAN — The City of Estevan held its inaugural Coffee with Council on Feb. 21 at the Buzz Liquor Lounge in Affinity Place, giving residents an opportunity to engage directly with municipal leaders. Mayor Tony Sernick, city councillors Dave Elliott, Mathew Dubowski and Brian Johnson, along with city manager Jeff Ward, met with a few community members in an informal setting to discuss local concerns, ongoing council initiatives and future plans.
